Yes its true now you can book your tickets through the SMS too. According to the IRCTC this facility will be started from 1st of July and soon railway will issue the number for sms.
For booking tickets from SMS will charge you 3Rs. For transaction more till 5000 Rs you have to pay 5 Rs and more than 5000 Rs you have to pay 10Rs. According to the IRCTC this service is started for customer to avail the ticket from anywhere. You dont need the print out this sms will work as ticket for you.
How to book ticket from SMS
Traveler have to send message with some details – > Train No, Place to travel, Date, Class, Name, Age, Sex.
After sending the sms you will get an MMID through which you have to make payment.
How to pay for ticket
User have to register his mobile to IRCTC and Bank. Bank will issue MMID or OTP it will help you to make the payment.
This facility will start from 1st of July so you have to wait that data.
