Tech-Byte By Mar 20, 2015 No Comments

We face this situation many times in companies and departments. Dont know why they block the USB Port in the windows when its easy to open. Here are some steps  which you can use and open it.

How to enable USB Port Using Regedit

1.Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Opened box, type regedit, and then click OK.

3. On the left side tree move to the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor

4. Under USBSTOR you will see “Start“in the right pane, double-click “Start”.

5. In the Value data box, type “3” (without quotes), click Hexadecimal (if it is not already selected), and then click OK.

Note :- if 3 is there than it will open the port and if 4 is entered than it will close the port.

6. Quit Registry Editor.

If you found any issues than please let us know and we will update ourself.
