High-Speed Downlink Packet Access(HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G mobile-telephone communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access(HSPA) family, also known as 3.5G, 3G+, or Turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Tele communications System (UMTS) to have higher data-transfer speeds and capacity. As of 2013 HSDPA deployments can support down-link speeds of up to 42.2 Mbps. HSPA+ offers further speed increases providing speeds of upto 337.5 Mbps.

Possible Uses of HSDPA

The use is same as that of broadband connections. It is possible to watch extremely good quality real time videos, download complete song tracks within seconds. With the help of HSDPA, one can do real time video conferencing with more than one user using very high quality video. With help of HSDPA one can move from wired broadband to wireless broadband.
